About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer will interface with factory technical staff to identify opportunities for standards development and cost savings, focusing on high complexity manufacturing processes. This role involves solving customer and assembly-specific problems in the manufacturing process and may include mentoring and training staff on production processes and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monitoring, auditing, and reporting of site processes through metrics.
  • Implement new and existing product-specific processes and controls to meet Delta Group Electronics and customer needs.
  • Mentor and train individuals in various product-specific production processes and required tools.
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) development on new and existing customer projects and RFQs.
  • Lead assessments of new components for implementation into the manufacturing process.
  • Support manufacturing tool design and implementation.
  • Conduct failure analysis support.
  • Assist in new customer product introductions.
  • Lead cost reduction projects on specific processes.
  • Review and ensure all customer technology requirements are met during quote activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education is required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with electronic manufacturing processes is highly preferred.
  • Intermediate Electronic Assembly skills required.
  • Thermal, Mechanical, and Materials Knowledge preferred.
  • Intermediate Operational Knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in mentoring and training staff in production processes.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
