About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer at Freudenberg-NOK General Partnership is responsible for maintaining and improving process capabilities within the manufacturing environment. This role involves analyzing data to optimize workflows, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The engineer will also mentor apprentices and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and improves process capabilities using appropriate tools and applicable methodologies
  • Inputs and analyses numerical data to identify patterns and relationships that can be used to develop optimal workflows and processes
  • Reviews Key Performance Indicator (KPI) monitoring systems and uses technology to achieve goals
  • Drives and champions a continuous improvement culture
  • Supports New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to prepare products or processes for launch
  • Ensures that all local, legal and Freudenberg requirements regarding Health, Safety, and Environment are fulfilled
  • Supports the creation of training documents and delivers training
  • Mentors Apprentices and Technicians to increase individual and team understanding and capability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent practical experience, including internships or co-ops
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing and interpreting technical drawings
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly, injection molding, welding)
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and quality control tools such as FMEA, root cause analysis, and statistical process control (SPC)
  • Basic understanding of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
