The Fremont facility, located in California's Silicon Valley, is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant that handles everything from low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale production. This facility is equipped with in-house painting capabilities and offers flexible logistics solutions, including distribution, inventory management, and repair services. The Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role in driving product improvements and ensuring successful product launches within the production environment. This position involves data analysis, root cause identification, and the development of solutions to prevent faults during product introduction. The Manufacturing Engineer will support the validation of manufacturing bills of materials (BOM) across multiple lines, lead product trial preparations, and provide critical feedback to project managers and cross-functional teams regarding manufacturability and yield impacts. Additionally, the role requires the completion of trial reports, ensuring manufacturing lines are validated post-trial, and applying proven manufacturing practices to both new and existing products. The Manufacturing Engineer will also be responsible for developing and proving manufacturing and test processes during product development and launch, creating assembly and test procedures, organizing process verification builds, and planning for capacity and throughput in a high-mix, low-to-medium volume environment. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively across various departments and geographic regions, ensuring that all activities are coordinated efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Support validation of manufacturing bill of materials (BOM) for one or multiple lines.
  • Lead and conduct product trial preparation, ensuring part availability and line readiness.
  • Provide feedback to technical project/program manager and cross-functional team members on issues related to trial runs.
  • Complete trial reports documenting observations, analysis, and results.
  • Ensure manufacturing lines are validated and restored post-trial by evaluating success metrics.
  • Apply proven manufacturing practices to refine, develop, and launch products.
  • Develop and prove manufacturing and test processes during product development and launch.
  • Create assembly and test procedures for production transfer and launch.
  • Organize and supervise process verification builds using statistical methods.
  • Help plan for capacity and throughput in a high mix low to medium volume environment.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback to the engineering team.
  • Assist with updating documentation for production ramps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 2 years of related manufacturing environment experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform well and grow under limited supervision.
