About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer at Emerson Discrete Automation will collaborate with the Plant Manager to enhance manufacturing processes, focusing on efficiency and productivity. This role involves analyzing equipment layout, workflow, and assembly methods to implement improvement plans, as well as designing tooling and fixtures for product manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, organize, implement and document manufacturing processes for Tescom products.
• Analyze and recommend improvements for products, equipment, tooling, and processes to enhance quality and productivity.
• Lead and participate in Lean, 5S, or other continuous improvement projects.
• Provide technical support and information to other departments, suppliers, and customers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in production.
• Coordinate and implement technical training for employees in manufacturing departments.
• Create and maintain work orders for manufacturing and assembly, assigning standard hours and performing time studies.
• Design and develop tooling, gauging, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing.
• Perform feasibility studies for capital equipment and prepare justifications.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
• Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with customers, suppliers, and employees
• Knowledge of scientific problem-solving tools (DOE, TQ, SPC, etc.)
• Ability to work in a cooperative team-oriented environment
• Ability to work independently and lead others to complete tasks.
