About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer position at Briggs & Stratton involves performing various engineering tasks under general supervision. The primary focus of this position is to implement new test methods or manufacturing processes aimed at reducing costs and enhancing efficiency within the manufacturing environment. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing production and processing methods that meet quality standards while ensuring cost efficiency. This includes making improvements or modifications to the sequence of operations and equipment utilization. You will monitor assigned operations to ensure compliance with project schedules and approved quality standards, actively participating in meetings with customers and suppliers to determine application requirements. Additionally, you will evaluate current technologies for potential cost reductions and improvements in product and production processes, while also monitoring facility metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The role may also require you to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing operations at Briggs & Stratton. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to apply their engineering knowledge in a practical setting and is committed to continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of engineering assignments to implement production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in a cost efficient manner
  • Implements improvements and/or modifications for sequence of operations, equipment utilization and related matters
  • Monitors assigned operations to assure compliance with project schedules and approved quality standards
  • Participates in meetings with customers and/or suppliers to determine application requirements
  • Evaluates current technologies for cost reduction and for product and production improvement
  • Monitors facility metrics such as safety, quality, delivery and cost
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related field
  • One year of engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures engineering standards and systems
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing production/cell development
  • Ability to plan and coordinate activities and projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with and motivate a diverse group of people
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
