About the position

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Stanley Black & Decker, you will play a crucial role in our Industrial team, working on-site to enhance our manufacturing processes. Your primary responsibilities will include designing process plans for manufactured products, improving existing manufacturing processes, and developing new processes and equipment. You will be tasked with ensuring that all equipment, processes, and tooling operate at satisfactory levels, which is essential for maintaining our high standards of quality and efficiency. In this role, you will conduct process capability studies to assess the effectiveness of current manufacturing methods and identify areas for improvement. You will also be responsible for implementing safety and productivity enhancements, participating in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvements, and documenting work standards and instructions. Investigating production concerns will be a key part of your job, where you will perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve issues. Additionally, you will engage in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and reliability of our manufacturing equipment. Your commitment to following and supporting all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies as defined by Stanley Black & Decker, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies will be paramount in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Review and improve existing manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Ensure that equipment, processes, and tooling operate at satisfactory levels.
  • Perform process capability studies.
  • Identify and implement safety and productivity improvements.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvements.
  • Document work standards and instructions.
  • Investigate production concerns and perform root cause analysis.
  • Implement corrective actions based on investigations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Follow and support all EH&S policies as defined by Stanley Black & Decker, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience (including internship experience).
  • High volume manufacturing and/or experience with sheet metal processing (Slitting, Heat Treating, Coating, Printing, Laminating and/or Forming) is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • CAD proficient; SolidWorks preferred.
  • Project management experience desirable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in high volume manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
