About the position

Phillips-Medisize, LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in CNC Machining and Molding to support our Magnesium Molding manufacturing facility located in Eau Claire, WI. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe operation and optimization of quality and efficiency within our CNC machining processes. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and solutions that enhance productivity while maintaining the highest standards of quality. In this position, you will drive continuous improvement efforts in both CNC machining and molding operations, acting as the subject matter expert for CNC Machining. Your expertise will be crucial during new product introductions as well as in daily production activities within the CNC work centers. You will also have the opportunity to mentor CNC Specialists and Operators, fostering an environment of growth and performance enhancement within the CNC machining department. Collaboration with external suppliers will be essential to ensure optimal quality, delivery, and cost for products processed at the MAG Facility. You will implement technical solutions that align with customer expectations regarding safety, quality, cost, and delivery. Additionally, you will lead Capital Equipment projects, create and monitor project timelines, and interface with customers regularly to resolve any issues that may arise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support/solutions for the CNC machining process to ensure safe operation and optimize quality and efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvements efforts both in CNC machining and molding operations
  • Function as the subject matter expert for CNC Machining for new product introduction and daily production in the CNC work centers
  • Mentor CNC Specialists and CNC Operators to improve the overall performance of the CNC machining department
  • Work with external suppliers to ensure optimal quality, delivery, and cost for products processed for the MAG Facility
  • Implement technical solutions to meet customer safety, quality, cost, and delivery expectations
  • Lead Capital Equipment projects
  • Create and monitor project timelines
  • Interface with customers on a regular basis to resolve issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Field OR 3+ years of working in a CNC environment
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the CNC machining field: DFM for machining, CNC programming, and CNC fixture design concepts
  • Knowledge of Injection Molding Process or Magnesium Molding Process
  • Experience using CAD to determine if tooling, equipment, and part designs meet requirements
  • Experience designing and building fixtures for production CNC machining of Magnesium castings
  • Experience developing and meeting project schedules along with contingency plans
