An organization within Northrop Grumman's Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, Spacecraft Components is a leading designer, producer, and supplier of spacecraft components that power and enable satellites of all classes. Products include spacecraft panels, bus structures, precision optical structures, deployable structural systems and mechanisms, solar arrays, and antenna reflectors. Our products are on virtually every U.S. satellite built in the last 20 years. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will create manufacturing plans for the manufacturing team to ensure that overall quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved. You will also create and improve manufacturing work instructions to meet challenging hardware requirements, establish common design goals aligned with the as-bid program proposal, and communicate manufacturing plans and processes to internal and external customers through Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRR). Your role will involve creating and managing Engineering Bill of Materials, reviewing engineering designs and drawings for accuracy and manufacturability, and conceptualizing and designing manufacturing tooling when required to support operations. You will provide liaison to operations, support real-time manufacturing floor issues, and resolve discrepant hardware through disposition for immediate remedy. Additionally, you will participate in root cause investigations for preventative corrective action and specify all necessary special processes, equipment, and fixtures required for manufacturing on assigned programs. You will also participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing methods, efficiency, and product quality.
