About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer position within the Gas Power Global Supply Chain focuses on engineering tasks associated with the manufacturing process. This role significantly impacts the quality of both individual and team outputs. The engineer will execute standard operational and technical tasks, which are typically guided by instructions and established work routines. However, there is some flexibility to rearrange the sequence of tasks based on changing work situations, allowing for a degree of autonomy in decision-making within a defined framework. This position primarily involves tactical responsibilities and does not encompass general administrative work. The engineer will broaden their knowledge within their technical discipline to effectively execute company policies and strategies. This may include support roles that require specialized technical knowledge, while still acquiring higher-level skills and understanding of key business drivers. The engineer will utilize this understanding to accomplish their work and will have a good grasp of how their team's work integrates with other teams, contributing to the overall objectives of the area. The role may require the engineer to lead a junior team and develop strong customer relationships, serving as the interface between the customer and GE. This includes explaining technical information to others and resolving issues that require good technical knowledge and judgment, all while adhering to established procedures. The position demands strong interpersonal skills and the ability to consult with more senior team members for issues that fall outside defined instructions or parameters.
