About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling. This role involves designing the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout. The engineer will design the sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. The position may also incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan, inspecting the performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigating and initiating corrective actions for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Additionally, the engineer will develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret electrical, electromechanical, and cable schematics during development and production stages.
  • Update and create assembly work instructions for efficient assembly based on the drawings and/or models.
  • Identify and maintain tool lists required for the efficient assembly of the given products.
  • Investigate technical problems and provide guidance in support of manufacturing operators to facilitate assembly performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing failures and help implement corrective actions, which may include design change recommendations.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and reduce waste in the manufacturing process.
