About the position

The main function of a Manufacturing Engineer at Actalent is to apply engineering theory and principles to address challenges related to industrial layout and manufacturing production. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering concepts, as well as the ability to create engineering drawings and interpret blueprints effectively. Manufacturing Engineers play a crucial role in enhancing production efficiency and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process. In this position, the Manufacturing Engineer will study various factors such as time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance and production operations. This analysis is essential for establishing standard production rates and identifying areas for improvement. The engineer will also interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and formulas, collaborating with management and engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for reviewing worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to ensure adherence to quality assurance specifications. They will aid in planning work assignments based on worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays. The role involves preparing charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization. On the shop floor, the Manufacturing Engineer will observe workers using equipment to verify compliance with quality assurance standards and evaluate data to write reports that validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. This position requires a balance of office work and hands-on involvement in the manufacturing process, with a typical task breakdown of 30% office work and 70% shop floor activities.
