About the position

Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Anniston, Alabama. This is a contract position where you will play a crucial role in supporting the global leader in the design, development, production, support, and sustainment of tracked and wheeled military equipment. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that production processes are safe, effective, and efficient, contributing to the safety of our allies and soldiers on the ground. In this role, you will define the production build process and identify, and at times design, test equipment and processes. You will also help define task requirements for section personnel and provide on-the-job training to ensure that they are capable of meeting performance requirements. Your responsibilities will include providing production support with day-to-day configuration and manufacturing process activities, as well as developing and implementing mistake-proofing solutions into the production process. Continuous improvement is a key focus of this position, and you will be expected to identify and implement initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce cycle time, minimize defects, improve safety, and eliminate waste. You will work in a collaborative environment, supporting new plant initiatives such as the Whole Systems Business Model, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma. This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that have a direct impact on the safety and effectiveness of military operations.

Responsibilities

  • Define production build process and ensure those processes are safe, effective, and efficient.
  • Identify and design test equipment and processes as needed.
  • Define task requirements for section personnel and provide on-the-job training.
  • Provide production support with day-to-day configuration and manufacturing process activities.
  • Develop and implement mistake-proofing solutions into the production process.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce defects.
  • Support new plant initiatives for teaming, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Technology, or related discipline.
  • Ability to meet ASR requirements (Anthropomorphic Size Restriction for Military Combat Vehicles).
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Excellent print reading skills.
  • Proficiency with multiple measurement tools.
  • Ability to work effectively with Supply Chain, Suppliers, and Customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and office applications.
  • Ability to serve on a multi-disciplinary team and manage multiple tasks to completion.
