About the position

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Actalent, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, work-ready transportation solutions to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to support assembly operations by ensuring that the necessary tooling and processes are in place efficiently and timely. This position requires you to continually develop new processes and tooling aimed at improving safety, quality, cost, and delivery. You will evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and define and implement new or modified manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will provide line support for assembly operations, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. Your role will also involve handling specifications, designs, sourcing, and project management of tooling and equipment projects. You will be responsible for gathering and organizing the necessary data to justify projects that require capital investment. This position will also require you to lead customer groups on tours of the factory, showcasing the manufacturing capabilities and processes in place. As a self-starter, you will need to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support assembly operations with necessary tooling and processes.
  • Develop new processes and tooling to improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify areas of improvement.
  • Define and implement new or changed manufacturing processes.
  • Provide line support for assembly operations.
  • Handle specifications, designs, sourcing, and project management of tooling and equipment projects.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Solid Works.
  • Strong shop floor communication skills.
  • Experience in metal fabrication.
