About the position

As a Manufacturing Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our production processes and ensuring the highest quality standards in our aerial work platforms. With over 50 years of experience in the industry, we pride ourselves on our commitment to safety and efficiency in working at height. Your primary focus will be on driving lean manufacturing and quality initiatives that lead to significant improvements in quality, production efficiency, delivery timelines, and cost management. You will be responsible for managing quality issues that arise from suppliers, through the assembly process, and into the finished goods stock. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. In this position, you will leverage Continuous Improvement (CI) and lean principles to identify areas for quality, cost, and delivery enhancements. You will create and update standards and controlled documents to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies. Additionally, you will be expected to read and interpret engineering drawings, which will aid in troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems effectively. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining our reputation as a leading provider of aerial work platforms, and you will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Managing quality issues from suppliers, through the assembly process, and into the finished goods stock
  • Leveraging CI and lean principles for quality, cost, and delivery improvements
  • Creating and updating standards and controlled documents
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field, and/or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of professional experience in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in CAD software
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen)
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Familiarity with tooling and fixtures

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the aerial work platform industry
  • Familiarity with quality management systems
  • Knowledge of safety regulations in manufacturing
