About the position

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by driving performance improvements (OEE), yield and productivity improvements. Identifying, initiating and implementing process improvements using continuous improvement principles. You will lead and participate in multiple continuous improvement projects focused on product and quality system improvements. Utilizing your technical skills, you will compile and review information to evaluate project scope, equipment specifications and other project requirements. You will effectively troubleshoot defects and variation, performing root cause analysis and apply problem solving skills to support production operations to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets. Additionally, you will utilize project management skills to organize and execute projects and provide engineering leadership to the Hartford City plant, establishing a network of resources and contacts to meet business goals and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive performance improvements (OEE), yield and productivity improvements.
  • Identify, initiate and implement process improvements using continuous improvement principles.
  • Lead and participate in multiple continuous improvement projects focused on product and quality system improvements.
  • Utilize technical skills to compile and review information to evaluate project scope, equipment specifications and other project requirements.
  • Effectively troubleshoot defects and variation, performing root cause analysis and apply problem solving skills.
  • Support production operations to meet daily, weekly, monthly targets.
  • Utilize project management skills to organize and execute projects.
  • Provide engineering leadership to the Hartford City plant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Two (2) years of combined experience in engineering and/or manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of data analysis using statistical software.
  • Three (3) years working with cross-functional teams in an industrial setting.
  • Experience with rotary converting, automation technology and processes, web handling and slitting processes.
  • Demonstrated strength in engineering/technical skills.
  • Self-starter/self-directed that leads with high energy and passion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills working in a high mix environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
