About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer will lead, create, and implement innovative technical activities and solutions in the areas of Mass Production, Business Plan, and New Model to efficiently meet or exceed Safety, Environment, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale characteristic targets. This role is crucial in ensuring that Honda continues to innovate and develop solutions that drive the business forward. The engineer will be responsible for effectively communicating upstream and downstream to all levels of the organization to assure common understanding and direction. In this position, the Manufacturing Engineer will review and analyze daily reports to identify safety, quality, and delivery gaps, developing potential countermeasures and root cause analysis opportunities while striving for continuous improvement. Utilizing data analysis and the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology, the engineer will lead, support, develop, and justify solutions with related groups and departments to solve complex problems. Monitoring and managing equipment and processes to ensure optimal manufacturing performance while minimizing operating expenses is a key responsibility. The role also involves developing the capability of oneself, colleagues, and the team through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences in areas of technical expertise. Establishing priorities and making decisions based on data analytics will be essential to accomplish business objectives effectively. The Manufacturing Engineer will manage project implementation, including schedule, budget, and resource allocations, to ensure successful completion and target achievement. Testing, evaluating, and implementing new and innovative technologies to improve overall equipment and process efficiency will also be part of the job. Additionally, the engineer will develop and manage investment and expense budgets to achieve overall cost targets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, create, and implement innovative technical activities and solutions in Mass Production, Business Plan, and New Model.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with relevant experience.
  • 6 years engineering experience required in lieu of a degree.
  • Manufacturing co-op/internship experience preferred.
  • Computer literate to support industry standard software applications.
  • Positive attitude, open-minded, and a team player.
  • Strong self-motivation and desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Self-managed and able to provide direction for others.
  • Demonstrates leadership capabilities.
  • Strong communication (verbal/written) skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and solve complex problems through analysis.
  • Strong technical analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automation equipment and quality gauging instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic oils and cutting lubricants.
