About the position

Sauder Woodworking Co is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide development and technical support for various technical systems that interact with manufacturing processes. The role involves working with systems such as CNC Work Centers, Measurement Systems, and Data Analytics, with opportunities to engage in projects related to robotic systems, process automation, yield analysis, and software testing for AI applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for program development, data collection, and control and detection systems.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in IoT, vision, artificial intelligence, data management, and emerging technologies.
  • Offer solutions and application training to Process Specialists and Core Competency groups.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of manufacturing machines, equipment, processes, and systems.
  • Maintain an organized project portfolio and detailed project records, creating and presenting reports on activities and results.
  • Participate in problem-solving for escalated pillar system issues using standard tools.
  • Lead experimentation with new technologies to assess feasibility within Sauder processes.
  • Assist in developing new specifications and standards for equipment used by Sauder.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and new methods and materials.
  • Perform programming, debugging, and analysis in system-level applications.
  • Develop methods to integrate data from separate systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Systems Engineering, or 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Background in software coding, including Microsoft Excel VBA, Python, VB.Net, Siemens PLC Programming, or similar.
  • Robotic experience is preferred but not required.
  • Desire to learn and self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with robotic systems.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and manufacturing optimization.
