About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assembly Engineer Manager to lead our equipment installation and product launch initiatives. This crucial role will involve managing assembly equipment built in both the US and Japan, ensuring part quality during trials, scheduling and overseeing line trials, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for successful product launches. The Assembly Engineer Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all assembly operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process. In this position, you will be responsible for managing the installation of assembly equipment, ensuring seamless operations and adherence to specifications. You will oversee line trials, guaranteeing part quality and addressing any issues that arise during the process. Effective communication and coordination with various departments will be essential to foster collaboration for successful product launches. You will also be tasked with mapping out and designing efficient process flows for assembly operations, developing machine processes, and optimizing equipment layouts for maximum productivity. Additionally, you will identify and implement cost-saving ideas to drive operational efficiencies, demonstrating a strong understanding of robotic systems and their applications. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in assembly operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the installation of assembly equipment, ensuring seamless operations and adherence to specifications

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar assembly engineering or management role
  • Ability to work weekends and undertake overnight travel, including international assignments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other drafting software

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in engineering or a related field (although not strictly required)
