About the position

The position involves leading continuous improvement projects in the Metal Powder Coat Finishing and Assembly area at Knoll. The role focuses on developing sustainable improvements through team engagement, utilizing lean concepts, and managing capital projects to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost initiatives. The individual will work closely with various departments to implement engineering changes and support new product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, prioritization, and implementation of continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop sustainable improvements through team engagement utilizing servant leadership and technical knowledge.
  • Utilize lean concepts including standardized work, problem-solving methodologies, and kaizen activities.
  • Implement engineering change notices and collaborate with quality and product development teams.
  • Manage capital projects for new product lines and equipment needs.
  • Document activities and progress, showing work and assumptions.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a related field preferred.
  • 2- or 4-year technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Sound understanding of lean and continuous improvement techniques with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, powder coat paint, and metal materials.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to utilize drawing and fabrication software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with semi-automated and automated equipment.
  • Ability to build business cases for capital expenditure and manage equipment specifications and installation projects.
