About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes in a state-of-the-art facility. This role involves implementing and reviewing procedures and equipment, testing new systems for efficiency, and optimizing factory layouts to enhance production. The engineer will also develop and maintain necessary documentation to support manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Thorough understanding and use of the company Quality Plan in all phases of production
  • Formulate and maintain manufacturing objectives, coordinating with production procedures to meet company goals
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and provide management with reports for future requirements
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and provide training for production personnel
  • Drive ongoing process and product improvement efforts
  • Ensure compliance of manufacturing processes with government laws and regulations
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and production costs to assist management in decision making
  • Collaborate with various departments to facilitate new product introduction
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and equipment
  • Program CNC equipment
  • Work with die casters and foundries
  • Administer quality control processes and provide training for production team members
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs
  • Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchases
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services
  • Follow departmental procedures and directives in completing work assignments

Requirements

  • Associates degree
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of related experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals and detailed product drawings
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from customers and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to write reports conforming to prescribed style and format
  • Effective presentation skills to top management and customers
  • Strong communication skills for production information dissemination
  • High level of mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CNC programming
  • Familiarity with quality control processes
  • Knowledge of manufacturing compliance regulations
