About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer at PACCAR Inc. is responsible for the continual improvement of manufacturing processes, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This role involves preparing and coordinating budget projects, reviewing product designs for manufacturability, and ensuring that production facilities and processes are ready for high-volume production. The engineer will also apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Prompt mitigation of identified safety, quality and productivity issues.
• Research quality problems to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Define how assembly processes should be performed to assemble parts to specification safely and efficiently with input from production personnel.
• Determine process variables which require monitoring to determine if the processes are in control and capable.
• Research capital budget ideas, prepare justification, design/purchase equipment, and coordinate installation.
• Review major product changes and provide input to Design Engineering on manufacturability and develop manufacturing processes.
• Rearrange assembly areas and design new production equipment to accommodate product changes and/or improve process flow.

Requirements

• Engineering degree required (Mechanical or Manufacturing/Industrial preferred).
• In-depth product knowledge highly desirable.
