About the position

The position focuses on the continual improvement of manufacturing processes at PACCAR, specifically within the Kenworth Truck Company division. The role involves enhancing safety, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness in manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and implementing budget projects, reviewing product designs for manufacturability, and applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Prompt mitigation of identified safety, quality and productivity issues.
• Research quality problems to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Define how assembly processes should be performed to assemble parts to specification safely and efficiently with input from production personnel.
• Determine process variables which require monitoring to determine if the processes are in control and capable.
• Research capital budget ideas, prepare justification, design/purchase equipment, and coordinate installation.
• Review major product changes and provide input to Design Engineering on manufacturability and develop manufacturing processes.
• Rearrange assembly areas and design new production equipment to accommodate product changes and/or improve process flow.

Requirements

• Engineering degree required (Mechanical or Manufacturing/Industrial preferred).
• In-depth product knowledge highly preferred.
