About the position
The Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division will work closely with the manufacturing engineering team to support the manufacturing, assembly, and calibration of Coordinate Measuring Machines. This role is designed for students enrolled in a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering program, providing hands-on experience in developing work instructions, improving assembly methods, and integrating new technologies into manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Develops and writes work instructions and sequence of operations with time estimates for each operation specification.
- Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities affecting safety, environment, quality, reliability, and productivity.
- Analyzes existing assembly methods and proposes new methods to improve cost, reliability, and quality of products and processes.
- Improves and/or designs new assembly fixtures.
- Aids in the development and integration of new technologies into manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering Program, in good academic standing.
- Must have a minimum of two years enrollment in said program.
- Must be proficient in MS Office.
- Must be proficient in process writing and documentation.
- Must be proficient in SolidWorks or NX.
