About the position

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Hubbell Power Systems is responsible for supervising the local Manufacturing Engineering team to support facility objectives. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safe and cost-effective manufacturing processes in a lean environment, while coordinating with other departments to achieve best-in-class performance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise members and activities of the Manufacturing Engineering team.
• Communicate relevant information to the Plant Manager promptly.
• Directly manage select engineering projects as determined by the Plant Manager.
• Support the Plant Manager in creating and maintaining annual capital expenditure and productivity savings plans.
• Ensure safety is the first priority in all projects and activities of the Engineering Team.
• Support the manufacturing department with process, equipment, tooling, and design-related issues.
• Identify and lead opportunities to streamline production by reallocating equipment or outsourcing to vendors.
• Assist in the development of new products in coordination with Design Engineering and Marketing departments.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility of the department including resource requirements and expenses.
• Maintain and update bills of materials, product routings, and costing calculations.
• Design new processes, modify existing designs, and develop test procedures.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws.
• Responsible for hiring, training, and performance appraisal of employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
• Experience in engineering change management.
• Proficient in SAP.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and proficiency in MS Office products.
