About the position

The Manufacturing Engineering Process Development Technician will play a crucial role in Tesla's Power Electronics & Energy Storage manufacturing team. This position focuses on collaborating with engineers to enhance manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production of high-quality products while driving continuous improvement and productivity enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers to develop, test, and validate new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Install, qualify, and validate new equipment to meet quality and manufacturing standards.
  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to boost productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Create and maintain accurate process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues, collect and analyze data, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Train and support manufacturing staff on new processes and equipment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering technician in an automated/semi-automated high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in common workplace software (Microsoft Office, Visio, Access, etc.) and utilizing SQL queries to access the database and pull reports.
  • Associate's Degree in a technical field, such as Mechanical Engineering or a related field, preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal, with ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies a plus.
