About the position
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician 1 role at Lancer Corporation involves implementing manufacturing methods and processes to support product quality and quantity goals. The position focuses on providing engineering support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system efficiencies while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities
- Provides engineering support by assisting in troubleshooting problems and monitoring new methods and procedures.
- Implements manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters.
- Reviews and recommends changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation.
- Implements processes, methods, and tooling for new programs and supervises their assembly and proofing.
- Assists in the manufacture of assembly lines, work cells, and manufacturing areas.
- Implements and installs equitable work measurement standards.
- Implements measures of variances to standards, identifies out of control variances, and assists in formulating solutions.
- Interacts with fabricators to create fixtures, teaching aids, and manufacturing tools.
- Collects and collates data as needed by Manufacturing Engineer or VSM.
- Interfaces with other departments to address and resolve engineering issues.
- Participates at the initiation phase of new product lines.
- Documents procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Two (2) years manufacturing experience required.
- One (1) year manufacturing leadership preferred (i.e., Quality Technician, Group leader, etc.).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and modern fabrication techniques.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with manufacturing resource-planning software.
Nice-to-haves
- Some college preferred.
- ACAD literacy is a plus.
