This position is responsible for supporting production operations, interacting with various departments and teams to help them understand the current state of operations, implementing step change improvements, and applying best practices on optimizing both existing and new product process flows. Responsibilities involve evaluating equipment, understanding key machine settings, installing control systems and upgrading the process. The role requires the application of lean manufacturing principles to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, as well as knowledge of product design, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment. The engineer will lead and support the launch of equipment, product, process, continuous improvement, and automation projects for production equipment, utilities, and facilities. The engineer will also develop and prepare process designs for both proposals and new projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with design standards, specifications, relevant codes, and EHS requirements in the region. They will review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain and develop knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities. Managing projects in an advanced manufacturing environment will require engaging and connecting with internal and external stakeholders. The engineer will implement systems to detect and prevent defects and ensure the functionality of equipment by developing process parameters and eliminating/controlling gap conditions for built-in quality. Testing, qualification, and product trials of current prototypes, materials, and products will be part of the role, along with implementing Engineering Change Orders in production. Auditing processes to verify their working at the optimum level, throughput rate, and quality rate to meet supply specifications is essential. The engineer will analyze equipment malfunctions and failure modes, developing and implementing corrective actions by engaging all stakeholders. They will use Lean tools and techniques to optimize equipment capacity to drive efficiency and control manufacturing costs, resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and develop cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and productivity.
