Responsibilities

  • Lead new model, business plan, and End of Life equipment projects including situation analysis, target setting, spec development, business justification, installation, and commissioning.
  • Conduct problem solving and root cause analysis by gathering data and going to the spot to find root causes and implementing countermeasures to eliminate problems.
  • Analyze current equipment conditions and operating characteristics to seek opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze available data to develop and implement strategies to improve department KPIs (run rate, throughput, material reduction).
  • Determine if new data collection is needed and make proposals to improve.
  • Support NM investigation by assisting RO Genpo group with NM equipment investigation.
  • Maintain regular communication with other facilities to reduce duplicate workload and collaborate on global plastics activity.
  • Support MESD with chronic/catastrophic downtime troubleshooting.
  • Generate documentation to achieve sustainability, including "How To" documents and procedures.
  • Develop a thorough understanding and apply engineering standards, specifications, drawings, and Honda quality systems and methods to hold accountability, prevent outflow, and ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in plastics engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering (Plastics engineering degree ideal) or equivalent process/plastics engineering experience in lieu of a degree/maintenance or equipment background.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects to assure deliverables are achieved.
  • Computer work such as ACAD, CATIA, and MS Office programs.
  • Hands-on support of equipment.
  • Ability to create and track project schedules.
  • Interpersonal skills to function in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Honda quality systems and methods.
