About the position

The Manufacturing Equipment Engineer at Honda is responsible for leading projects related to new models, business plans, and End of Life equipment. This role involves concept development, specification creation, design, and implementation of equipment changes and installations. The engineer will analyze current equipment conditions, seek opportunities for improvement, and support investigations related to new model equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new model, business plan, and End of Life equipment projects including situation analysis and target setting.
  • Conduct problem solving and root cause analysis by gathering data and implementing countermeasures.
  • Analyze current equipment conditions and operating characteristics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve department KPIs such as run rate and throughput.
  • Support NM investigation by assisting the RO Genpo group with new model equipment investigations.
  • Maintain communication with other facilities to reduce duplicate workload and collaborate on global plastics activities.
  • Support MESD with troubleshooting chronic and catastrophic downtime issues.
  • Generate documentation to achieve sustainability, including 'How To' documents and procedures.
  • Apply engineering standards and Honda quality systems to ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in plastics engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience in process/plastics engineering.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and assure deliverables are achieved.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as ACAD, CATIA, and MS Office.
  • Experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Hands-on support of equipment and ability to create and track project schedules.
  • Interpersonal skills to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Honda quality systems and methods.
