About the position

The Manufacturing Equipment Operator position involves working under direct supervision to set up, monitor, and operate various pieces of equipment essential for the manufacturing facility's operations. The role requires the operator to manage equipment such as rewinders, tapelines, packagers, tape/braiders, marlines, plastic extruders, and PCP injection machines. Operators may be required to handle multiple machines simultaneously, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, the position may involve performing repairs, patching, or splicing cables as needed. Quality assurance activities are also part of the job, ensuring that all manufacturing and engineering specifications, as well as ISO requirements, are met. This role is critical in the production of reinforced polypipe used for oil transportation underground, with a primary focus on running a coiler and changing reels as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, monitor, and operate various manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform quality assurance activities as required by manufacturing and engineering specifications.
  • Read and interpret routine instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Utilize general hand tools and precision measuring equipment effectively.
  • Operate material moving equipment, including overhead cranes, and obtain necessary certifications.
  • Perform repairs, patching, or splicing of cables as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months previous manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret routine instructions.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Forklift experience (not required but preferred).
