About the position

As a Full-time Manufacturing Machinist at Fastenal, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various pieces of equipment, including turning centers and machining centers, as well as other manual equipment. This role requires a solid understanding of machine operations and the capabilities of each machine you will be working with. The position may offer a flexible schedule after completing a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. You will be expected to perform accurate inspections on products, run multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously, and provide assistance to other employees as needed. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in your work area is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

Nice-to-haves

• Prior machining experience
• Possess a 2 year tool and die or machining degree
