About the position

The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment in a medical device manufacturing environment. This role involves working independently and mentoring less experienced technicians while ensuring compliance with safety and GMP standards. The technician will focus on automation, PLCs, and robotic devices, contributing to process optimization and equipment performance improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
• Mentor less experienced technicians to build their skills.
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls, and electrical systems.
• Collaborate with engineers on complex problem-solving.
• Manage equipment performance improvement projects.
• Complete maintenance activities in accordance with company policies and GMP requirements.
• Ensure calibrations are current on all machines and ensure proper operations after calibration.
• Contribute to process validation activities and equipment design improvements.
• Provide operation training on automated systems to maintenance techs and production operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in maintenance/technical support in a medical/GMP regulated environment.
• Technical degree programs/certifications desired.
• Highly proficient with tools, instrumentation, and test equipment.
• Ability to read and understand complex mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge concerning machines and tools.
• Experience with RF Welding theory/process, bonding, ultrasonic welding, and leak testing.
• Demonstrated fluency with database and information systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a cleanroom environment.
• Knowledge of safety requirements in a manufacturing setting.
