About the position

The Manufacturing Manager will oversee all aspects of production execution, focusing on optimizing production efficiency, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe work environment. This role involves leveraging lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes to achieve sustainable high-performance outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staffing levels, coordinate recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of new staff.
  • Mentor team members and provide constructive performance evaluations of direct reports.
  • Promote a culture of safety and enforce safe work practices.
  • Implement and maintain quality standards and specifications and quality control procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily production to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Partner with supply chain resources for optimized production schedules.
  • Oversee maintenance of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collect and analyze production data and performance metrics for data-driven decisions.
  • Implement process improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist department leadership in developing and executing the organization's budget expectations.
  • Monitor and control production costs to meet financial targets.
  • Assist product development team with building prototypes and fitting them into the production schedule.
  • Interact with engineering department to resolve technical issues in manufacturing.
  • Communicate regularly with upper management regarding manufacturing issues.
  • Assist department and company leadership on special assignments and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field/equivalent work experience (Required).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of manager-level or equivalent leadership in a manufacturing environment (required).
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with an ERP system implementation is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous electronics manufacturing experience (preferred).
