About the position

We are partnered with a well-established OEM manufacturer that is experiencing substantial growth. Due to this growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in taking new product ideas and product support projects from concept to production. This involves managing engineering project activities and priorities while coordinating with various departments including sales, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality. The ideal candidate will utilize engineering principles, proprietary design tools, and internal design criteria to develop new product concepts or enhance features for existing products. In this position, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for creating 3-D models, assemblies, and 2-D prints as needed to validate concepts, detail designs, and communicate design intent effectively. Additionally, the engineer will specify and supervise product validation testing required to validate new concepts and designs, including documenting test results of standardized tests. This role is essential for ensuring that the products meet the required specifications and quality standards before they are brought to market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering project activities and priorities for new product ideas and product support projects.
  • Coordinate with sales, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality departments.
  • Develop new product concepts or enhance features for existing products using engineering principles and proprietary design tools.
  • Create 3-D models, assemblies, and 2-D prints to validate concepts and detail designs.
  • Specify and supervise product validation testing to validate new concepts and designs.
  • Document test results of standardized tests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • 2+ years' experience working with mechanical systems.
  • Experience with CAD systems, preferably Solid Works.
  • Familiarity with basic manufacturing technologies and processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards and work processes.

  • Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
