About the position
The Block Manufacturing Operator at Preferred Materials is responsible for operating machinery and performing various tasks within the concrete block manufacturing plant. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to work independently while ensuring the efficient operation of manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift and handle materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Monitor the operation of concrete block manufacturing machines.
- Remove and install brick molds and clean all parts of the machinery.
- Shovel, sweep, and rake debris from the base of machinery.
- Make adjustments to the calibration of machines and perform general repairs as needed.
- Push blocks along rollers and arrange them for placement onto pallets.
- Climb into machinery for repairs and work in enclosed spaces for cleaning.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience (preferred but not required).
- Forklift experience (preferred).
- Mechanic experience (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
- Ability to work over 40 hours including weekends.
