About the position

The Manufacturing Operator II at Thermo Fisher Scientific plays a crucial role in the efficient picking and packing of orders, supporting the manufacturing team in staging and distributing materials for production. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of frozen perishable items and ensuring timely order fulfillment while utilizing computer systems for inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently pick items from inventory shelves according to order specifications.
  • Safely and securely pack items into appropriate containers, ensuring they are correctly labeled and prepared for shipment.
  • Utilize tow motors/forklifts to transport materials and products throughout the warehouse.
  • Perform manual order picking tasks, including locating items within the warehouse, verifying quantities, and preparing orders for shipment.
  • Assist in the management of order fulfillment processes, including organizing and prioritizing orders, ensuring timely completion, and communicating any issues or discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Adhere to specific packaging requirements for frozen perishable items, ensuring proper handling and storage to maintain product integrity.
  • Assist in setting up for manufacturing processes by staging media and materials for operators.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely availability of required materials.
  • Use the SAP system to view orders and process them efficiently.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years' experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Picking and/or Packing experience.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment, particularly in order picking and packing roles.
  • Ability to safely operate Power Industrial Trucks or Tuggers with tow motors/forklifts preferred.
  • Basic computer skills for order management and inventory tracking.
  • Familiarity with SAP system or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to listen to, follow, and relay written and verbal instructions in English.
