About the position

Our Belleville manufacturing site is seeking highly motivated, reliable, and flexible individuals with a commitment to safety and total quality to be part of our diverse operating teams. Technicians are required to learn how to operate, adjust, changeover, and maintain high-speed equipment on a rotating shift schedule. These entry-level positions require strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to solve complex problems, and analyze data using information technology systems. Technicians must be able to work well individually and as part of a self-directed work team handling multiple priorities in an ever-changing environment. Strong interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication skills are essential. Candidates must also be willing to be trained on fork trucks, as operating a fork truck (once trained) is required for this position. Plant Technicians are paid a competitive wage with a starting salary of $25.45 and a $3.20 shift premium. This position includes a Retirement Investment Plan, a comprehensive Benefits package, and a voluntary stock program with a company match portion. Shift schedules are: 7 day/12 hour, days and nights; rapid rotation; receiving 84 hours every 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to operate, adjust, changeover, and maintain high-speed equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
  • Analyze data using information technology systems.
  • Work individually and as part of a self-directed work team.
  • Handle multiple priorities in an ever-changing environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Operate fork trucks after training.

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education and/or related mechanical/electrical experience is an asset.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour rapid rotating shifts.
  • Valid G2 or higher Ontario Drivers License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols in a manufacturing setting.
