About the position

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will support manufacturing floor activities, oversee the build process, develop and implement new product layouts and manufacturing instructions, and perform data collection to drive continuous process improvements and corrective actions. This role is essential for ensuring that manufacturing processes are efficient and meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Program Manager on product or customer-related activities; take direction on assigned tasks or projects.
  • Interface directly with customers to understand requirements and ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Generate Pre- and Post- DfA/DfM analyses and reports for products, including creating DfX reports using systems like Valor; recommend design changes as needed.
  • Review and approve New Product Introduction (NPI) preparation processes (e.g., MPI, tooling, SAP production engineering module).
  • Support the production floor from pilot runs to mass production; troubleshoot and resolve issues, and guide technicians and operators.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing and assembly processes to maximize productivity.
  • Perform data collection for continuous improvement in processes and equipment, focusing on cost reduction initiatives, lean manufacturing, ISO standards, value stream mapping, production floor layout optimization, TAKT Time studies, Design of Experiment (DOE) studies, and product yield analysis.
  • Address root causes in engineering issues.
  • Support or create process control plans and conduct Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Provide global support to other company plants as needed.
  • Recommend capital equipment purchases.
  • Assist in developing new automated processes with existing hardware and software.
  • Prepare activity reports and input relevant data as required.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned, following engineering instructions, SOPs, training, customer requirements, and personal experience.

  • PCB Assembly and production experience
  • SAP knowledge
  • Process improvement skills
