About the position

To better support the evolving electric vehicle industry in the United States, a leading global company in electric vehicle battery technology is seeking multiple full-time Manufacturing Process Engineers to join their team in Marshall, MI. Our client specializes in producing high-quality batteries and is committed to innovation and customer satisfaction. They are looking for proactive individuals who can enhance product quality, optimize production processes, and support the introduction of new products and materials. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will play a crucial role in analyzing and improving the yield and utilization rates of quality products. This includes enhancing the First Time Yield (FTY) rate to ensure products meet quality standards on the first attempt. The engineer will develop and implement effective monitoring systems for mass production processes and conduct thorough analyses to detect and address production anomalies promptly. Evaluating risks associated with new products, materials, processes, and equipment is also a key responsibility, along with developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies for smooth integration. Additionally, the engineer will implement corrective measures to resolve batch quality issues, analyze customer complaints to identify root causes, and develop improvement plans to prevent recurrence. Providing on-site support for mass production customers and ensuring compliance with quality standards during audits are essential tasks. The role also requires maintaining an organized file system for all relevant documentation, ensuring records are up-to-date and accessible for reference and audit purposes.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrochemical engineering, engineering, materials science, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in process engineering or a related field, with experience in automotive manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Proficient in various engineering techniques, including Six Sigma, Design of Experiments (DOE), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and the 8D problem-solving process.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools like Minitab and JMP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction and support.
  • Proficient in documentation and maintaining organized records.
  • Ability to maintain a full-time work schedule with regular in-person attendance.
  • Ability to interact professionally with individuals of varied backgrounds and skill levels.
