About the position

The Manufacturing Process Engineer - Quality at Pactiv Evergreen Inc. is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes for Molded Fiber products. This role involves providing leadership for associates, enhancing production efficiency, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safety standards within the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for Molded Fiber products.
  • Provide leadership for associates supporting quality and process monitoring.
  • Work with management, technicians, and operators to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Create and maintain accurate engineering/process documentation.
  • Establish set-up and processing parameters based on material and machine capabilities.
  • Develop molding procedures for consistent product processing.
  • Monitor and review daily production efficiencies with the Production Manager.
  • Perform design of experiments and establish capability studies.
  • Document capital equipment justification.
  • Oversee lab & process technicians and overall quality program.
  • Lead quality root cause investigations.
  • Monitor and coordinate responses to quality concerns.
  • Manage and coordinate NSF audit and GMP standards for the plant.
  • Address and report safety issues or hazards.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing and leading direct reports in a manufacturing environment.
  • Continuous Improvement experience.
  • SPC Gain Seeker experience.
  • Food Safety / GMP experience highly desired.
  • Paper science or paper making experience highly desired.
  • Management/supervisory experience required.
  • Analytical skills and proven leadership effectiveness.
  • Experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with PI systems (digital EOT systems).
  • Proficient to expert knowledge in pulp and fiber process and tooling.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Advanced mathematical skills and numerical accuracy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD is a plus.
