About The Position

The responsibility of the Manufacturing Process Engineer is the tactical and strategic management of all engineering activities related to the assigned production team. The Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Engineering Leader of the respective Value Stream. Primary Goals of this position include Tactical Execution, Strategic Growth, and People Development.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Skills in any sheet metal manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the effective prioritization and resourcing for completion of projects and problem-solving efforts to improve safety, product quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all systems and processes through the use of the problem-solving process.
  • Provide opportunities for yourself and your team members to learn and grow on a daily basis.
  • Partner with all other functions to create a successful work environment that thrives on collaboration and process creation and adherence.
  • Function, coach, and create the necessities for a safe work environment.
  • Provide engineering support to assigned cells, including the ability to analyze processes and equipment.
  • Perform root cause analysis and drive equipment reliability and process stability.
  • Define, specify, and communicate expectations for quality outcomes through the creation of standard work, quality specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ensure engineering solutions meet requirements for safety, cost, time, and quality.
  • Assess risks/issues and make decisions, acting with a sense of urgency.
  • Use formal problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Prepare capital project requests and manage their implementation.
  • Assist purchasing and quality assurance in qualifying new vendors, as needed.
  • Research, evaluate, justify, and recommend capital equipment for operations.
  • Develop and/or maintain all process documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze proposed changes for manufacturing impact and feasibility.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Project Management.
  • Manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical manufacturing.
