About the position

Argon Industries, a rapidly growing contract manufacturer of light to medium sheet metal components, is looking for experienced employees. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing systems and methods throughout the production process to meet or exceed customer requirements. This role requires extensive knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, materials, welding, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing systems and methods throughout the production process.
  • Determine the most efficient method of fabricating parts and assemblies from drawings and samples.
  • Develop accurate routing and drawings specifying the sequence of the manufacturing process.
  • Order, develop, and coordinate the purchase of special tooling and fixtures.
  • Issue necessary paperwork for drawing changes and coordinate the process to ensure timely updates.
  • Establish and foster working relationships with shop personnel, quality, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ensure the Engineering Department produces complete, timely, and accurate work that conforms to all requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules of work assigned; supervise and instruct other Engineering Department personnel.
  • Analyze and prepare facility studies related to plant areas, machinery, and equipment costs.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of sheet metal and assembly processes.
  • 6+ years of personal experience in manufacturing operations, including hands-on experience with lasers, CNC turrets, CNC press brakes, and welding.
  • Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Able to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.
  • Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings.
  • Experience with CAD 3-D modeling, specifically Solidworks/Sheetmetal.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Dedication to producing accurate and complete products for manufacturing.
