About the position

Vitesco Technologies is seeking a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Process Engineer to join our team in Seguin, Texas. The Process Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting assembly lines for our vehicle products, focusing on serial life equipment improvements and eliminating waste from production processes. This position requires the use of statistical methods to enhance process efficiency by better integrating operator activities with machines, materials, information, and energy on the shop floor. The engineer will be responsible for researching and testing design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to support innovation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities. The Process Engineer will create and maintain essential manufacturing process documentation, including process flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing. Performance metrics will include labor time reduction and NCC1 improvements. The role involves monitoring equipment performance based on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time, downtime, mean time between failures (MTBF), yield, and scrap, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions. In addition, the Process Engineer will respond to production equipment breakdowns, assist in diagnosing faults, determine root causes, and facilitate repairs. The engineer will provide direction to maintenance technicians on troubleshooting and repairing machinery, capture and process data related to cycle times and line stoppages, and prepare and maintain process and equipment documentation. This includes setup matrices, parameter cards, work instructions, process guides, schematics, operating guides, spare parts lists, and maintenance procedures. The role also involves selecting components for industrial automation, planning and conducting process characterizations, leading activities to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), MTBF, mean time to repair (MTTR), scrap rates, and first pass yield (FPY) through problem-solving and process optimization. The Process Engineer will identify, implement, and document projects using 5-Why and 8D formats for review with engineering and management, plan and support scheduled equipment maintenance, and perform equipment and process setup and validation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, participation in meetings, and providing updates on actions and feedback on equipment and process-related topics are also key responsibilities.
