About the position

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer at Actalent, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the operational efficiencies of our manufacturing processes. Located in Muncie, Indiana, you will be part of a leading global tier one supplier with a strong presence across 41 manufacturing sites in 12 countries. Our Muncie facility is unique as it serves as the sole internal supplier of forgings used within engine structures. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting process improvements, investigating downtimes, and spearheading quality initiatives to ensure that our manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of efficiency and quality. In this role, you will actively participate in plant meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop customer solutions. You will also have the opportunity to engage in potential leadership activities, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing operations. Your expertise in job shop, machining, and forging type manufacturing will be crucial as you work to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions. Strong communication skills will be essential as you interact with various stakeholders and present your findings and recommendations. This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity, lasting for a duration of 8 months, and requires a fully on-site presence in our forging facility. The work environment is dynamic, involving large presses and equipment for melting metal, and can become quite hot during the summer months. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing processes, making this a rewarding opportunity for those passionate about engineering and process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSME preferred, MET acceptable, IE with relevant experience)
  • 3-8 years of post-graduation work experience
  • Experience in job shop, machining, or forging type manufacturing
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and process improvement methodologies
  • Experience in quality investigations
  • Strong communication skills
