About the position

Crown Food North America is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team, supporting operations for the Food Division. This position is crucial as it involves working closely with our eight manufacturing facilities to enhance and innovate manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, developing, and improving manufacturing processes by analyzing product requirements and manufacturing methods. This role requires a strong focus on maintaining quality and safety standards, document control, and supporting the engineering needs of our manufacturing facilities. In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer will develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment. Evaluating manufacturing processes will involve designing and conducting research while applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. The engineer will also work to improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing existing processes and methods, ensuring product and process quality through the design of test methods, and establishing standards to confirm manufacturing processes. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will provide critical decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs. Collaboration with outside sources for tooling design, simulation, and production will also be a key responsibility. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to perform other duties as required to support the overall goals of the Food Division.

Responsibilities

  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing processes and manufacturing methods.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing test methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, establishing standards, confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provide manufacturing decision making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Collaborate with outside sources for tooling design, design simulation, and tooling production as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Minimum of five (5) years manufacturing experience in positions of increasing responsibility

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in high-speed metal packaging related to the manufacture or use of Beverage, Food or Aerosol packaging
  • Six Sigma certification in Green Belt or beyond
