About the position

The Manufacturing Process Engineer at May Technology & Mfg., Inc. is responsible for analyzing customer technical requirements and creating manufacturing plans for the fabrication or assembly of products. This role involves coordinating with various departments, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and supporting manufacturing operations to improve processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Study engineering blueprints, drawings, models and other specifications to determine customer requirements.
  • Review technical and non-technical documents that relate to contracts, specifications, purchasing, product design, manufacture and test and incorporate the requirements into the manufacturing plans.
  • Coordinate technical questions and corrections with MTM sales and the Customers engineering representatives.
  • Apply knowledge of functions, and processes of various departments and capacities of machines and equipment to determine the sequence of operations for fabrication or assembly of product.
  • Determine if operations require subcontractor involvement. Specify the specific work scope and requirements for all subcontracted operations.
  • List operations to be performed on manufacturing plan, indicate machine or equipment to be used, estimate time to set-up and perform each operation.
  • Specify type of material to be used, determine the material requirements for part fabrication, considering part size, and method of fabrication.
  • Direct and coordinate quality planning activities.
  • Post changes to computerized or manual control records, release documents and notify affected departments.
  • Support the Quality Management System to assure compliance to quality, industrial and government standards and regulations.
  • Release manufacturing plans and supporting documentation to authorized departments.
  • Support manufacturing operations and subcontractors by clarifying requirements and improving manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Compile and maintain control of records relating to customer drawing specifications, part lists, and customer supplied product/process supporting documentation.
  • Maintain and control process specification documents and data.
  • Assist in determining adequate parts inventory requirements for customers.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
  • Observe the safety rules and regulations and wear the required safety equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training/ or combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with an ISO/AS 9100 quality system.
  • MRP and SPC experience preferred.
  • Aerospace experience a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks and Telesis Software a plus.
