About the position

The Product Engineer is a pivotal role within the Operations group, tasked with ensuring the overall conformance of parts produced. This position is essential for achieving cost reductions on existing products through enhanced design, process control, and quality improvement of all castings. The Product Engineer will provide on-demand technical assistance for manufacturing operations, taking ownership of root cause analysis and corrective actions for all Material Review Board (MRB) issues. This role is responsible for improving part manufacturability through process optimization and ensuring dimensional compliance through effective process management. In addition, the Product Engineer will serve as the focal point for translating customer-provided blueprints into precise inspection requirements. The role also involves coordinating the design of gaging, fixturing, and tooling as it relates to labor improvement initiatives. The Product Engineer will provide primary support for all dimensional evaluations, including AS9102 Form 3 and production CMM inspections. Furthermore, the engineer may assist with Tooling & Special Charges projects and could be assigned to special cost reduction initiatives as part of a multi-discipline team, following up on project progress throughout the manufacturing process. Collaboration with supervisors and leads to assess risks to the schedule is also a key responsibility.
