About the position

The Manufacturing Production Smelting Line Loader position at LKQ involves a range of responsibilities focused on ensuring the quality and efficiency of production processes. As a Production Tech, you will be tasked with operating production equipment, maintaining machinery, and assembling various parts. Your role is crucial in meeting quality standards and deadlines for products, which requires a keen eye for detail and adherence to safety protocols, especially in environments where materials may be hazardous. You will be responsible for checking for defects in products, monitoring manufacturing equipment, and following safety procedures to prevent accidents. In addition to operating machinery, you will also be responsible for storing products and materials, meeting production deadlines, and reporting any defective products or machinery. Keeping the worksite clean is essential to avoid hazards from chemicals and fragile products. You will need to review and follow manufacturing manuals to ensure that machinery is built correctly and that shipping procedures are timely. The position does not involve supervising other employees, allowing you to focus on your production tasks. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and previous experience in a production or warehouse environment. You should possess a good understanding of how production equipment works and be able to detect potential problems with machinery. Basic computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively are also necessary. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, lifting, and working in potentially hazardous conditions, which may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements
