About the position

The Manufacturing Programmer Analyst is responsible for monitoring, developing, and implementing technical support directions as specified by manufacturing management. This role involves developing and supervising manufacturing programming systems, providing efficient production systems operation, and supporting remote manufacturing operations. The analyst will also train manufacturing users and technicians to ensure smooth operations across multiple shifts in a global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares detailed program specifications.
  • Writes, implements, and maintains software code for manufacturing production operations.
  • Performs supervisory duties to support and improve manufacturing computer systems.
  • Provides technical and troubleshooting support to daily system users.
  • Assigns maintenance and software projects to operation technicians.
  • Supervises and documents project progression and completion dates.
  • Contacts vendor technical support for troubleshooting assistance.
  • Sources hardware/software for maintaining and upgrading manufacturing systems.
  • Trains manufacturing operators on system usage and updates.
  • Creates and maintains laser job files according to engineering procedures.
  • Trains and supervises new software/hardware introductions throughout manufacturing staff.
  • Recommends enhancements to existing systems based on efficiency and user requests.
  • Coordinates and performs system testing and implements corrections.
  • Provides technical support to various departments including Engineering and Quality Assurance.
  • Collaborates with production management to develop and monitor KPIs and scheduling.
  • Researches and presents new technologies for evaluation and application.
  • Provides support to Art Departments with software systems and prepares user documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing systems programming.
  • Extensive knowledge of programming languages including Visual Basic and C++.
  • Experience with RS-232 communications and data collection/barcode applications.
  • Familiarity with digital printing operations, including Mimaki machines.
  • NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills and solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and self-motivation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Formal programming training with emphasis on manufacturing systems preferred.
