About the position

The Manufacturing Project Manager - Operations and Implementation at Siemens is a pivotal role within the Smart Infrastructure, Electrical Products division, focusing on the optimization of production methods and the implementation of advanced manufacturing strategies. This position is designed for a professional who is passionate about leading multidisciplinary teams to enhance operational efficiency and drive sustainable practices in manufacturing. The role is hybrid, allowing for flexibility in work location while requiring a strong presence in the operational facilities across North America. In this role, the project manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of manufacturing projects, from the initial customer configuration to the final delivery of products. This includes developing comprehensive business plans that outline the benefits, costs, schedules, scopes, and risks associated with each project. The project manager will ensure that all projects are executed within defined requirements, maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and stakeholder management. A key aspect of the role involves preserving and potentially improving the return on investment established during the initial phases of the project by leveraging synergies and learning throughout the implementation process. The Manufacturing Project Manager will coordinate efforts across various disciplines, including Engineering, Operations, and Procurement, ensuring effective collaboration with regional and global units. This role requires a proactive approach to technical risk management, with the project manager actively identifying and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle. Regular updates to senior management will be essential to keep all stakeholders informed of project progress and challenges. The successful candidate will be expected to embrace state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities, including digitalization, automation, data analytics, and machine learning/artificial intelligence, applying these technologies in a systemic manner to achieve significant gains in productivity, speed, error reduction, and flexibility compared to traditional production methods. This position is not only about managing projects but also about driving a culture of high performance and ownership within the teams involved.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to implement projects focused on optimizing production methods.
  • Develop business plans defining benefits, costs, schedules, scope, and risks of projects.
  • Execute projects within defined requirements, ensuring business success and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure timely decisions on open issues and identification of risks, escalating as necessary.
  • Preserve and improve the return on investment established in the initial project phases.
  • Coordinate across Engineering, Operations, and Procurement disciplines to ensure cooperation with regional and global units.
  • Perform technical risk management and actively mitigate risks throughout the project life.
  • Provide updates to senior management on project status and challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Mechatronics) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing large complex projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • High proficiency in project management and communication tools (Excel, Word, Project & Visio).
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
